tHe BArn

The barn is a mid 1900’s Gothic-arch style, or sometimes referred to as a round top design. This allows a completely open area on the upper level.

Both upper and lower levels have been restored, with the upstairs featuring two restrooms, a bar and two walkout decks. Both levels have large doors that open on both ends, to provide an open air feel and a way to cool the space on those hot summer days. The lower level includes a restroom, walkout deck, and a kitchen if you’d like to have a rehearsal dinner or prepare your own meals.

Between both levels, we can seat 250 total guests indoors, with up to 200 seated with tables on the top level, and/or up to 100 on the lower level. We supply chairs and tables for up to 250 indoor guests, plus there is seating and tables for 50+ on the outdoor patios and gazebo. For an upstairs ceremony only, it will handle 250 chairs set up for your ceremony.

There is a chair lift on the stairs to help disabled or the elderly to access the upper level, as well as a wheel chair if needed. Feel free to use our sound systems on each level if you’d like, and bring a flash drive with pictures to display on the flat screen TV.

The old milk house of the barn houses our kitchen, which has a sink, refrigerator, range with oven, and microwave, and several cupboards for storage. The four different restrooms at Windmill Hill are all indoors, with full length mirrors and running water.

The barn is not air conditioned, preserving it’s rustic design, style, and look. We do have fans available for use if it is extremely warm. If it is cool out, there are heating systems on both levels to knock off the chill. Because the barn is not insulated though, we do not hold events from November thru March.

The COrn Crib

Only 30 feet away from the barn, the inside of the old corn crib has been remodeled for the use of the wedding party. This includes a bridal suite, groom’s lounge, a private rest or break area, a restroom, and an area for young children to rest or watch movies.

The bridal suite is complete with makeup lighting and full-length mirrors, accent walls to hang dresses and take pictures, couches and chairs, and places to hang coats, extra clothes, etc. The groom’s lounge features a large TV, dart board, bar with bar stools, full- length mirror, and area to hang jackets, suits, etc. The break room is complete with a small fridge and a microwave with a large counter for snacks and beverages. This entire building is air conditioned and heated for the wedding party’s comfort.

Decorations storage area. We also have a large decor room where we have wedding decorations, greenery, flowers, vases, candles, wood slabs, lanterns, signs, and other items. Our decorations room has been expanded and is constantly being updated. Come take a look! All of our decorations are free for your use with a wedding package!

The Two Level Patio and gazebo outside

A large two-level patio is located between the barn and corn crib complete with tables and chairs, and lighting, and can accommodate 50 guests.

Because of their location, the patios are shaded in the afternoon, which makes it a cool and popular area. It is an ideal outdoor hangout area with plenty of space, a bench swing, and a fire-pit upon request. This is the perfect place to visit with other guests or sit around after your rehearsal dinner, and a nice open area during a wedding reception!

There are several picturesque areas around the buildings, such as an old tractor on the West end of the building, benches, and rock gardens, for wedding photos, family pictures, etc.

We have parking for approximately 80 vehicles, with the capability of front door drop off for the elderly or disabled.

An 18’ grain bin style gazebo was installed in 2021 for your ceremonies or just to hang out in around the firepit. It is straight off the patio area. A very nice addition!
